8 Weeks out (I think).

So we're roughly about 8 weeks out from Dublin. Think that's when a lot of the training plans allow for a half Ironman. So going to try and get serious for the last couple of weeks and put a bit more structure to the training. Following a plan to some extent. Going to take 2 days off a week, cause i'm worth it.

Got a real kick up the ass when I raced Athy last weekend. I didn't have a great swim coming out of the water in a little over 27 minutes, but the bike was a nightmare from the start. I just couldn't get it going at all and felt like I was giving it everything but going no where. The time I did kind of confirmed what I thought. I was out there for a good 1hour 35 minutes, and when I got off the bike I felt like i'd just given it everything to get that poxy time so I was tired on the run. The run was 51 mins but again really felt like I worked hard just to get that 51 minutes. So since Athy i've come back with renewed motivation. Think it's possible the worst i've done in an olympic distance race in a few years.

The plan is defo to work harder on the bike, I think at this stage my swim is my swim i'm not going to get much better at it and the run will be hard to cut time off but I feel with 8  weeks to go I can knock a lot of time off that. Hopefully it'll be enough to bring Louis Long down, if not I should have enough in the tank to take care of the B team of Michael Pearce, Daragh Phelan.  No matter how bad the race goes i'll always have Conor MacGowan though.

Damo.
